The Barrington Dance Ensemble company includes dedicated students and pre-professional dancers, ranging in age from 11-18, all of whom train to achieve high standards of excellence in various forms of dance, including ballet, modern, jazz, and character dance. Selected through yearly auditions, company dancers undertake a rigorous daily training schedule at the Barrington Dance Academy. In addition to their training and performance in BDE’s full production ballets, ensemble members take part in community outreach programs, bringing the beauty and discipline of dance to area grade school children, senior citizens, festival audiences, fundraisers, and community events.
BDE is proud to bring professional-quality productions to Chicago’s Northwest Suburbs. BDE presents two full length ballets per year at Barrington High School’s Richard C. Johnson Auditorium, including The Nutcracker in December and a spring ballet in June.
